Winner of The Alchemist “Rapper’s Best Friend 2 ‘Got Raps?” Contest Is Announced

In late February of this year, legendary hip-hop producer The Alchemist partnered with label Decon and HipHopDX for the “Rapper’s Best Friend 2 Got Raps? Contest.”

Al produced a beat specially for the contest in which contestants could submit videos of themselves rapping over the beat.  Initially, entries were supposed to be capped at the first 100 contestants to enter.  However, that entry cap was thrown out and replaced with the deadline of March 22nd.

It got to the point where some even wondered if this was actually a real contest, but thankfully a winner was announced today.  The Alchemist selected Joyner Lucas from Worcester, Massachusetts.  Joyner will receive a fully produced track from Alchemist and it will be distributed digitally by Decon.

The contest was full of more whack shit than anything, but there were a few stand out contestants.  This dude was pretty dope until he lost me at this line, “I’m nastier than Nas, I’ll stick my dick inside a camel”.  The fuck are you talkin’ bout son?  I think there could have been a few nasty references that might have been better but “Who Am I”?  Congrats to the homie though.
