Mary J. Blige Responds To Burger King Commercial.
Recently Mary J. appeared in a Burger King commerical, singing a soulful song about their new Crispy Chicken Snack Wrap.
When the ad was released on YouTube, Blige was criticized by fans and critics alike for taking part in a commerical which encouraged an African-American stereotype.
After a lot of backlash, the commerical was taken down from YouTube. Blige has now responded, saying that, that commerical was not the final version.
“I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence… ”I understand my fans being upset by what they saw,” Blige continued. “But, if you’re a Mary fan, you have to know I would never allow an unfinished spot like the one you saw go out.”
BK also confirmed that this was not the final version of the ad, and it aired “before all of the licensing and final approvals were obtained … We would like to apologize to Mary J. and all of her fans for airing an ad that was not final.”
Blige is rumoured to have received a whopping $2 million for the final ad, which will be released soon.
Straight up, who gives a fuck. We all know blacks love some chicken, Mexicans love Barbacoa and White’s love some caviar.. People now days take shit way outta’ context and look for a reason to bitch. M.J.B. did the damn shoot, so why are ya’ll mad?? Get a life..
