Shawty Lo Kept Off T.V. Show “Love & Hip Hop” Because Of Criminal Record
Rapper Shawty Lo will no longer be appearing on the upcoming season of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop”, which is scheduled to take place in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was supposed to be featured on the t.v. series with his girlfriend and all 10 of his kids; however, his criminal record has made VH1 weary of letting him on the show.
In an interview with AllHipHop, Shawty said, “I was supposed to be on the reality show, because of my record VH1 won’t let me be on there. I got 28 arrests, I been convicted 4 times.”
Although many other rappers have been featured on VH1 despite their criminal past, Shawty Lo explained that his history is a bit different from other artists: “The difference with me and the other rappers is I got a lot of violence on my record. People got shot, I didn’t just get caught with drugs, I was really doing crazy stuff in the streets. It’s a blessing. Thanks to the number #1 judge up stairs. (AllHipHop)”
I guess VH1 is worried about their camera crew getting shot up or becoming accessories to murder or something. I can picture it now, Shawty riding through the hood with the camera crew and all of a sudden he pulls out an RPG and shoots a rocket into a trap house. Who knows….
