50 Cent To Release His First Gangsta Grillz Mixtape With DJ Drama
50 Cent is set to release his upcoming mixtape with DJ Drama for his first ever Gangsta Grillz mixtape. The mixtape is to be called The Lost Tape, although details on its release date are still unknown.
50 announced the news via Twitter: “I’m dropping another mix tape called the lost tape with DJ drama. My first gangsta grillz mix tape.”
DJ Drama chimed in as well: “Arguably the two most important brands in the mixtape game in the last 10 years. 50 Cent & Gangsta Grillz. #qualitystreetmusic”.
The Lost Tape will give fans a taste of what’s to come this summer. 50 is planning on dropping his newest full length album on July 2nd. In an interview with RapFix, he said:
“It’s been three years since my last album, so I’ve recorded so much material that I’m really excited about trying to get those ideas to the general public so they get a chance to hear it and appreciate it.”
I can’t say that I’m really all that excited, I mean I’m anxious to hear it but I’m not going nuts with anticipation over this. I used to be a really big 50 fan, like to where I showed up at the store before it opened to get his album. And if you dared try to cut in line I would fuckin’ body you.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a fan and always will be, but for the past like 4 or 5 years he just hasn’t been coming with it. Honestly, he plain fell the fuck off…at least when it comes to the music game. He just doesn’t have that hunger anymore; which I completely understand with him being filthy rich and all, but he just hasn’t been able to transition his lifestyle changes and different perceptions on life into his music very well.
I feel like there are two options: 1.) Get on that “I got so much money I could fit your house into my bathroom cabinet” Jay-Z type shit, or 2.) He could give me all his money and then hit the corner and starting pumping packs and bodying mufuckaz again and he won’t get his money back until he makes a dope album.
I prefer the latter, cuz I really want that grimy Ferrari F Fifty shit back!!! Anyway, who knows? He might surprise me. I hope so.
